Music Box T.E. is a 1-bit music editor developed by Shiru for the ZX Spectrum 48K. Released in 2009, it is based on the music player routine from WHAM! The Music Box by Mark Time (1985). The main feature of Music Box T.E. is its tracker-type interface, which offers a new way to interact with the music creation process.

The editor allows users to play two notes simultaneously with fixed duration and volume, or apply a drum effect. The drum sound utilizes two channels at once and cannot be played together with a note. When a drum effect is added to a track, the note on the other channel is erased.

Music Box T.E. is compatible with WHAM! in terms of file format, but users must manually set loop start points when loading files from WHAM!. The editor includes features like block copying and the MBTESNAY utility, which converts music to AY files.

The editor was rapidly developed, with version 1.0 released on September 19, 2009, and subsequent updates improving functionality, such as additional note keys and remapped controls.
