With Digit, the Galactic team presents a soundtracker reminiscent of those found on the Amiga. Four independent tracks can be transposed in real time across a total of three octaves. Each track can be loaded with digital samples, allowing high-quality acoustic instruments to be integrated into custom programs. The playback frequency is 12.5 kHz—and if that's not sufficient, oversampling functions enhance the sound.

Stereo sound is played back via the Atari sound chip in conjunction with the Galactic Sample ROM port module "SampleStar". On the STE, TT, or Falcon, the sound comes from the built-in DMA sound chip in stereo. Users of a basic ST without a sample module must forgo stereo and can only work in mono.
