Furnace supports nearly every old-school 8-bit/16-bit system out there! from the Atari 2600 and Commodore PET to SNES, Genesis and arcades, you'll feel at home with the vast selection of systems Furnace supports. Every sound chip is emulated using many of the best emulation cores out there for a fantastic, true-to-hardware sound. Furnace is a free cross-platform multi-system open-source music tracker. It has its own format, furnace (format), but is also able to load and save DefleMask Tracker .dmf files, including support for the new .dmf 1.1 and later specification. It is also capable of exporting to .vgm for the systems that support it, and ROM export for a limited but growing number of configurations.

Furnace emulates every sound chip is emulated using many of the best emulation cores out there for a fantastic, true-to-hardware sound.

Furnace loads all your .dmf songs,* and even your instruments (.dmf)/wavetables (.dmw). on top of that, it also saves in these formats for interoperability!** (besides Furnace's own .fur format)

You can export your Furnace song to different formats, including:

• audio files (.wav), including per-chip and per-channel
• VGM files (.vgm), covering over 80% of the VGM specification!
• text files (.txt), human and computer-readable
• Zsound Music (.zsm), for Commander X16
• Atari 2600 ROM (.bin) powered by TIunA
• Atari 400/800 SAP type R (.sap) playable by Altirra and lzss-sap
• Furnace Command Stream files for driver development
